We are a couple living part time in Skåne, Sweden and part time in the south of Spain. On this site you will find some of the Rhodesian Ridgebacks of our family, presented in various environments. We have chosen to stay out of all "show pictures" as we think their natural beauty is superior.

Due to rapidly increasing problems and alarming statistics we like to announce that we never use or have used a parent dog with known allergy problems. Up to today no dog bred by us has shown signs of allergy. We aim to keep it that way.

the african heritage - never forget it

The SPIRIT OF ISHTAR dogs are based on true African lines and our devoted aim is to stay with that as far as ever possible. To breed for the future one has to know the history of the Rhodesian Ridgeback. A true Ridegeback has strong hunting and guarding instincts. Those instincts should NEVER be bred away.
